Charity run 2019: 470 runners take a stand against cancer

A successful start: Around 470 runners participated in the first charity run of the National Center for Tumor Diseases Dresden (NCT/UCC) in the Dresden Waldpark on 2 July between 5 and 9 pm. Individually or in teams, all participants covered more than 3,100 kilometres together. A good 10,000 euros in donations for cancer research were raised.

Olympic canoeing champion Tom Liebscher was there, and he also presented the prize to the team with the most laps completed: Team OncoRay can look forward to a coffee with the top athlete. The 28 runners of the team covered 109 kilometres together. Congratulations!

Host Marc Huster accompanied the audience through the balmy summer evening, during which the acrobatic performances of the Lunatics Cheerleader e.V. cheerleaders were a constant source of amazement. Relaxing moments were provided by the physiotherapy students of the Carus Academy, who offered free massages throughout the evening.
