At the comprehensive pain center of the University Hospital Dresden an interdisciplinary team of physicians, psychotherapists, physiotherapists and nurses is taking care of patients suffering from different (chronic) pain syndromes (e.g. cancer pain, low back pain, neuropathic pain, headache, CRPS). Different specialized diagnostic (e.g. quantitative sensory testing, electroneurography) and treatment options (e.g. pharmacotherapy, biofeedback, interdisciplinary multimodal therapy, specialized headache treatment for children) are being offered.
Treatment evaluation, development of a core outcome set and development and implementation of measurement tools in the setting of an interdisciplinary multimodal pain treatment as well as pharmacotherapy of different neuropathic pain syndromes, pharmacoepidemiology of opioid prescriptions in non-cancer pain patients and evaluation of an interdisciplinary treatment program for children and adolescents suffering from headache are the main areas of scientific research and expertise.
