Counselling and support services

Your self-assessment helps us provide you with the best possible care

In our interdisciplinary outpatient oncology clinic, various departments work closely together to provide you with the best possible medical care. In addition to examinations and treatments, we also care deeply about how you are doing personally during your illness and treatment.

That is why we ask you to fill out short questionnaires about your current well-being. These self-assessment are also known as Patient-Reported Outcome Measures, or PROMs for short. They help us better understand your situation and identify potential support needs early on.

How does the survey work?

The survey is conducted on a tablet during your outpatient visit. You will usually receive the tablet from our staff at the reception desk in Building 31c. Sometimes we will approach you directly in the waiting area.

It only takes a few minutes to complete. Your responses will then be analyzed. If any of the results indicate a need for additional support, we will contact you. This may be done by phone, in writing, or directly by a member of our treatment team.

What topics are covered?

The questionnaires cover three areas that are particularly important for your cancer treatment:

Quality of life
How are you doing physically, emotionally, and in your daily life?

Mental health
Are there any signs of worry, anxiety, stress, or other psychological distress?

Nutritional screening
What is your nutritional status, and are there any potential risks that could affect your treatment?

This information complements the medical findings and gives us a more comprehensive picture of your current situation.

Why is your self-assessment important?

Your answers help us

  • identify support needs that might not come up immediately during your consultation with your doctor
  • connect you with appropriate services, such as psycho-oncology, nutritional counseling, social service, exercise counseling, or other forms of assistance
  • tailor your treatment even better to your personal situation.

How This Benefits You

By completing these questionnaires, you actively contribute your own perspective to your treatment. This helps us better identify where you need support and address your needs more effectively.

Even if your results were normal, please feel free to reach out to us at any time if you feel you need support. We are here for you. Your well-being is at the heart of what we do.
