Psychosocial Service in Pediatric Oncology

The cancer diagnosis of a child or adolescent is often a shocking experience for the patients as well as their closest relatives and social environment. It marks the beginning of a challenging time with a range of emotions such as fear, concern, insecurity, or intense sadness. Suddenly, the structure of an entire family is turned upside down.

In view of the many changes in the daily lives of the affected child or adolescent and their family, they can receive professional support from the Psychosocial Service in pediatric oncology. Various disciplines assist them throughout the entire course of oncological treatment.
