Daniela Hempelt

Spokesperson Patient Council NCT/UCC Dresden
In May 2024, I was diagnosed with breast cancer — a diagnosis that changed my life from one moment to the next. Since June 2024, I have been receiving treatment at the NCT/UCC Dresden. I have learned a lot during this time about the challenges, but also the opportunities, of dealing with this disease. Through my personal experience as a patient, I would like to actively contribute to advancing and improving research and development in the field of cancer treatment from a patient’s perspective.

Ute Stahl

Deputy Spokesperson Patient Council NCT/UCC Dresden
In 2004 I was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). In 2008 I received an allogeneic stem cell transplant at University Hospital Dresden. I have been volunteering as a patient representative at NCT/UCC Dresden for several years. I like to be a contact person for patients and their relatives. In order to be well prepared for this, I use my own personal experience and also participate in online seminars run by the Patient Expert Academy for Tumor Diseases (PEAK) to further my education.

Barbara Hauptmann

In 2008 I was diagnosed with lymphoma. After spending two years recovering, I started looking for a volunteer project to be involved in. I have since joined four. As a patient representative on the Patient Council of NCT/UCC Dresden I enjoy advocating for the concerns of patients and their relatives. Furthermore, I am the head of the leukemia and lymphoma self-help group in Dresden.

Mathias Jatzlauk

In 2016 I developed malignant melanoma. Two years later, doctors found two brain metastases and several metastases in my abdomen. Since 2018, I have been participating successfully in a medical trial at University Hospital Dresden.
I have been a member of the Patient Council at NCT/UCC Dresden since 2020.

Wolfgang Krämer

I have been closely associated with University Hospital Dresden since 2011, when I started receiving treatment for multiple myeloma. Because of this diagnosis, I am involved in the Patient Council of NCT/UCC Dresden, where I can actively advocate for the concerns and needs of patients and their relatives.

Gabriele Krowas

In September 2023, I was diagnosed with malignant pleural mesothelioma. After chemotherapy and HITOC-OP at Dresden University Hospital, I am pleased to report that my condition is progressing positively. In my work in the patient advisory board, I see an opportunity to give something back. From my perspective as a patient, I would like to contribute to research and development in cancer therapy and also serve as a trusted and supportive contact person for patients and their families.

Peter Musil

I was diagnosed with malignant melanoma at University Hospital Dresden through an incidental finding in 2019. Thanks to the exemplary treatment and care at NCT/UCC Dresden, I am currently classed as recovered. I am pleased to have been part of the Patient Council since 2021.

Susanne Schmitt

After being diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), I underwent a successful allogeneic stem cell transplantation at the University Hospital Dresden in 2016.
When my husband was diagnosed with cancer in 2023, I decided to support the work of the NCT/UCC Patient Advisory Board on a voluntary basis. I use my experience as a patient and as a family member, as well as the knowledge gained through various trainings, to contribute the patient’s perspective to research and development.
Additionally, I would like to be available to patients and their relatives for any questions or concerns – please feel free to contact me if needed.

Jana Weinhold

I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in February 2022. Four months of outpatient chemotherapy were followed by high-dose chemotherapy and autologous stem cell transplantation. I have been a member of the Patient Council since 2023 and am keen to be actively involved in the field of research.
