MISSION4Sax establishes a pilot model for intersectoral and interdisciplinary cooperation tooptimize treatment of cancer patients in East Saxony, which has the potential to serve as a modelfor other regions. The key aim is to make the expertise of a center of excellence in oncology at the NCT/ UCC Dresden available to all tumor patients in East Saxony and to harmonize their treatmentat a high level. The development of guideline-based patient pathways for diagnostics and treatment
of tumor diseases, the establishment of a surgical indication tumor board ensuring that all cancerpatients have access to the most modern surgical-technical procedures and innovative studies, theextension of an existing regional registry of cancer patient cohorts and an exchange & trainingprogram for medical staff and patients are the four core elements of MISSION4Sax.
