Cancer Information Service

The Cancer Information Service is a department of the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg. Since 1986, it has been providing information on cancer. Patients, their relatives, and anyone seeking advice can access free, scientifically sound, and easily understandable information that is free from advertising.

Since March 2010, the Cancer Information Service has had a branch at the National Centre for Tumor Diseases in Dresden (NCT/UCC). Doctors in Dresden answer telephone enquiries from members of the public on all aspects of cancer every day from 8 am to 8 pm on the freephone number 0800 - 420 30 40.

They take the time to address the individual concerns of cancer patients, as well as those of their relatives and anyone seeking advice, in detail. They provide quality-assured information, offer expert guidance, and provide details of advice centers and other points of contact.

Please note that the services offered by the Cancer Information Service do not replace an individual consultation with a doctor or a second medical opinion.
