BioBank Dresden

Liquid samples in procesing, (c)Thomas Albrecht (UKD)
The BioBank Dresden (BBD) manages human fluid and tissue samples from cancer patients and control subjects at Dresden University Hospital (UKD) and clinical partner institutions in order to make them available to researchers at the Dresden university campus and cooperating institutions.
Detailed information about the services offered by the BBD can be found on our website

Tissue in paraffin block, (c)Thomas Albrecht (UKD)
One of the BBD's main areas of focus is oncology. There is close cooperation with physicians and researchers at the University Hospital Dresden (UKD), the Faculty of Medicine at TU Dresden, the NCT/UCC and the German Cancer Consortium (DKTK) Dresden. The BBD supports the establishment of sample collections in the context of clinical studies or scientific questions, sample retrieval and selection, and ethics applications. It also provides templates for consent forms and biobank-related documents.

As the BBD is also actively involved in oncology networks such as the NCT and the DKTK network, facilitation and support of cross-location projects in the context of biobanking is possible.

If you have any questions or specific project ideas, please do not hesitate to contact the BBD team via email: heidi.altmann(at)ukdd.de or biobank.dresden(at)ukdd.de
