There are both hereditary and acquired risk factors. It is estimated that 5 to 10% of all malignant breast tumors arise from an inherited predisposition. If several women in a family develop breast and/or ovarian cancer and the cancers occurred at a young age, this can be an indication of a hereditary form of breast cancer.
At the University Women's Clinic, we offer you comprehensive advice, diagnostics and medical care if you have familial (hereditary) breast and ovarian cancer or if you suspect it.
