Psychoonkologie

Etwa die Hälfte aller Krebspatientinnen und -patienten leiden unter klinisch relevanten Belastungen, während bei einem Drittel aller Patientinnen und Patienten eine komorbide psychische Erkrankung besteht. Während des Behandlungs- und Erkrankungsverlauf kann sich die Lebensqualität verschlechtern und verschiedene essentielle Fragen können auftreten.
Die Psychoonkologie bietet nicht-pharmakologische Interventionen an, um Belastungs- und Bewältigungsfähigkeiten von Krebserkrankten zu fördern und Unterstützung in allen Phasen der jeweiligen Erkrankung zu bieten.
Die Mitarbeitenden des Psychoonkologischen Dienstes bieten nicht nur Unterstützung während des gesamten Behandlungsverlaufs im Rahmen der klinischen Versorgung. Zusätzlich wirken wir an nationalen und internationalen wissenschaftlichen Projekten zur Verbesserung des psychischen Wohlbefindens unserer Patientinnen und Patienten mit und führen eigene wissenschaftliche Projekte durch und betreuen psychologische und medizinische Qualifikationsarbeiten.

Forschungsschwerpunkte

Die Forschung des psychoonkologischen Teams konzentriert sich auf drei Schwerpunkte:

  • Verbesserung der Lebensqualität von Krebspatientinnen und -patienten und ihren Familien. Unser Ziel ist es, valide Messinstrumente zur Erfassung patientenberichteter Endpunkte zu entwickeln, um die Perspektive der Erkrankten in die Krebsversorgung und -forschung noch stärker einzubeziehen.
  • Untersuchung möglicher Prädiktoren für ungeplante stationäre Wiederaufnahmen bei ambulanten Patientinnen und Patienten. Hierbei wird insbesondere die Belastung der pflegenden Angehörigen als mögliche Einflussgröße betrachtet. 
  • Bereitstellung maßgeschneiderter, unterstützender Interventionen, die auf die Verbesserung der psychologischen Ergebnisse und der Lebensqualität von Krebspatientinnen und -patienten abzielen.

Wir arbeiten eng mit der "NCT/UCC Forschungsgruppe Patientenberichtete Angaben" (Dr. M. Eichler)  zusammen und beteiligen uns regelmäßig an nationalen (z.B. S3-Leitlinie "Psychoonkologie", „Palliativmedizin“ und "Weichteilsarkome") und internationalen Studien und Projekten (EORTC).
